World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day is a global initiative to raise awareness, fight prejudice, and improve education about HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. World AIDS Day is December 1.
An estimated 36.9 million people are living with HIV/AIDS worldwide. In the United States, about 50,000 people get infected with HIV every year. Around 1.2 million people are living with HIV in the United States, and 1 in 8 don’t know it. The number of new HIV diagnoses has remained fairly stable in recent years.

AIDS Prevention
According to Mayo Clinic, there’s no vaccine to prevent HIV infection and no cure for AIDS. But it’s possible to protect yourself and others from infection.
That means educating yourself about HIV and avoiding any behavior that allows HIV-infected fluids — blood, semen, vaginal secretions and breast milk — into your body.
